well nope You buy mods on Steam now... and not 10 not 20 no a full 25% goes to the modder and the rest well you see the picture.
So you know... The nude mod that you liked so much for skyrim? PAY FOR IT!
The Animegirls gat rapped from any animal in skyrim? Pay for it!
The bigger realistic boobs? BUY IT!

PS: Or you go to nexus Mod manager and download them still for free

That's because they're not ***s. They are a good community. I can't even fathom why anyone would use the workshop. The people that pay for mods, don't even have the intelligence to even google for a better source... The fact that mods get price tags is cringe-worthy at best.

I've heard people took some of their things off nexus in light of the fact that a random person could make a quick buck by re-uploading their thing and getting unsuspecting workshop users to buy them.

But still, you can manualy download, almost all mods, from nexus where it will remain free (or i hope) forever.

Yep but at this moment mods are vanishing from nexus... so they cen sold on steam... still i never downloaded any mod from steam so far and with that day i never will
