lots of jobs are stressful and underpaid.
tons of chinese sweatshop workers would love to wait tables.

employee has money to be customer

Or the employer could pay the right wage for its employees and raise the price of their products so their employees wouldnt need to suffer so they can get a tip and be righfully paid

I'm all for tips if they did their service way beyond standard. But then tip any profession, not just the waiter.

But don't tip for average and don't tip because it's obligatory. That's not the spirit of tipping.

Lets take in account professional cross fitters and bodybuilders are not necessary for the society.. Does not generate more wealth in the wold, but rather take it away.

Tipping creates an incentive for waiters to do their jobs properly. If they perform well, they get extra money in addition to their current salary, and the business gets a better reputation for having good workers.
