the point here is not if this is for fun etc.it's about that most hugelolers will actually believe this without question, because they mistakenly think that the internet is the place where everything is said is true(i've seen such thing). And if we take into consideration the fact that european countries (mostly) want their people to believe that Hellas is that lazy and spoiled nation that wants to live from other countries' money,i can easily reach a conclusion that this post does more harm than good(to everybody). So,non Hellene hugeloler, next time you turn on the TV pay attention on how the media present Hellenes, and then you may understand what i am talking about.

The reason why Greece is in crisis is not because the greeces don't work,
it's because the state Greek wasted money, and now the whole pupulation of EU have a problem cause wasted money, but it's not the problem that Greece don't work hard enough.

All of the EU governments have wasted more money than you would think they did. The funniest thing about all this is that every country in the EU as well as every major country worldwide has a very large debt.

(Side note: Germany has a humongous debt to Greece after WW2, more than they would like to admit or pay without becoming bankrupt.)

True, but not only the Greek government wasted money. Most of the European states, even France and the UK have problems because they were borrowing a lot of money since many years ago. Most governments did. It created a buble, and tha buble burst with the crysis. The crysis itself is not the problem, the crysis is the result of the problem, the last drop that caused the water to drip from the glass.

as an economist I'm going to explain this to you:
there basically three main problems in greece:
1. all round governement failure( caused in part by the millitary junta that only relatively recently fell(1974) and in part by corruption and a very bad tax-culture)
2. low productivity for the hours that are actually worked( caused by failing governement-owned industries and a massive governement)
3. the too small wage gap between north and south europe( caused by the european union labor-laws and the northern slow rise in wages)
these factors caused low exports and high imports thereby destabillizing the economy in general and forcing the greek governement to loan to pay for expenses this led to an ever increasing debt 1, wich the incompetent governement(and the citizens) ignored because alot of "great" economies had the same issues and so it was deemed that those weren't a big problem and because there's an economic theorem that says that if your economy keeps growing at an faster rate then your debt you have no problem, however with the crisis the economy in greece didn't grow anymore and the debt became unpayable
(the real problem is much more complicated and I have ignored alot of things like the banks and the high rate of the euro but those are the basics)

o yea and btw america and japan also have very high debts but because those are too big to fail( if they fail all governements are in risk of going bankrupt) they can keep borrowing money, however someday this will have to stop. so please don't think greece is the only western country with these problems

Be careful of the idiocies you say.
Besides, i bet you think we only borrowed money from the Germans. Think about the Great Wasr and then come back.

They repaid the war debt. At around 7%.
Then the money got "lost" in a Brit cargo. And nothing else is said about the other payments, it wouldn't have been made in once.

Anyways, do you even know what the Germans owe (for you owed)? I bet you forget some.

I agree, Germany wouldn't have been able to get to her feet, not so fast at least, but does that mean we should live with the destruction caused by them? Our leaders asked repetitively for that money, and in the 60's or 70's we were told after the reunification. I guess the Wall of Berlin still stands, dividing the West from the East ?
I mean, we lost about 15% of our population
Ou gold deposit was stolen and melted into german gold bars
Germany forced the " government" during the occupation to take a very heavy loan, that never touched the Greek soil and was directly sent in Germany, while we still pay for that loan (!!!)
The Marshall plan was lost during our civil war, a war that was magnified greatly by the British.
Plus all the things the troops requisitioned and never returned etc etc.

I mean, last time i checked, in WW2 we were with the allies. Our resistance was quite significant into helping the Allies in North Africa to acutally exist, by destroying many communicantion/train tracks and routes, destroying a lot of expensive German assets. What did we get for that? Well first of all the Germans sent the SS to some villages. Some times they left the women to live.
That's something!

But i thas been said by many historians that if for our actions, North Africa would have been lost.

And after being portraied as such, don't missunderstand me i am a bit bitter.
I do reckon that the Greek immigrants where allowed to come to Germany for work, whic was part of the act of surrender if i recall well, but seen the overall damage, it's very little.
