It was always the threat of an instantaneous ass whooping, but it never happened. I caught on after a while that my mom's wasn't the type to beat my ass in public (she would do the typical twisting of the ear and grabbing of the lips) but no physical altercation. So in my all mighty 8 year old wisdom, I decided "she ain't going to do shit" so kept messing around in the store. When we got back home, it was immediately to business. Helped her unpack the groceries then turned around and was met with the thunderous slap granted by Odin upon his chosen champion. I ain't gonna lie shit scared me so hard I pisses myself. She ain't even beat me or nothing, it was just the sheer power and suddenness that broke me. Never ***ed with my moms at the store ever again.
