My mother didn't vaccinate us, on purpose, because in children who are predisposed to have asthma, the vaccine can trigger asthma attacks, which at that age can be lethal. My sister had this problem and almost died because of the vaccine, we have not been vaccinated since.

Plus there are some diseases, like polio, that you can only get from the vaccine. (In the last decade in the U.S. there have only been 2 reported cases of non-vaccine induced polio).

Also there are some stupid people who think that if I'm not vaccinated that I can get you sick. It's only the other way around. (and because we're not vaccinated, if there's an outbreak in our area, we have a mandated 2 weeks off school)

There are usually well-based reasons for people to not be vaccinated. I'm not trying to change your mind on vaccinations, but to open it up to why people are against vaccinations.

the profile is is called Barack Obama. Biden is the Vice-President. I didn't get it at first because I didn't look at the profile name.
