You call it "superior depiction", I call fashion. Humans are social creatures, we tend to think according to what is popular at a time. Now it is Emma Watson and Game of Thrones. But as time goes by the now popular trends will grow old and eventually die. So if it's these trends that drive you nuts then don't worry since they'll pass, however bare in mind that new things will replace them. It's self torture to always complain about the way we act. Maybe I got you wrong (sorry about that) but that is the message I got from what you said and since I felt insulted I had to reply. And about the english thing, China is escalating quickly (could possibly outrank the US) but mandarin is way to complicated. English is insanely easy to learn and master, me being a native spanish speaker I can assure your that English is widely spoken for its simplicity. Spanish, french, italian are quite hard to learn.

I almost forgot, remember that everything has a consequence. I don't know why you posted this, but do you? Always keep in mind that it is ok to speak your mind as long as it is respectful of other ideals and make sure to have a clear purpose so that your readers understand why you did it and love what you did.

Don't like Emma Watson? Good, I don't care. Don't like Game of Thrones? Write your own novel with a happy ending. And if you're speaking in english, español, français, italiano etc. I believe you should speak it correctly, accept corrections and avoid corrected mistakes in the future. If you disagree on something don't shove it on everyone's face, there are ways of expressing discontent without insulting and I find it rather contradictory that you try to fight something you don't like by doing the same thing.
