Calling Ulfric a power hungry *** is okay, but it is not an argument, it is just an opinion. I agree that he could've played nice, but he is an impulsive prick. It doesn't change the fact that what the Imperials did to the Nords is wrong.
Yes, the Nords didn't play nice, but neither did the Imperials, when they invaded Skyrim.
It is completely understandable that they reacted violently. It is not right, but it is understandable. And since the imperials are not better, judging the nords without judging the imperials is stupid.
Also, Skyrim must be ruled by someone who cares about Nord interests, simply because most denizens of Skyrim are Nords. Someone who is not interested in their troubles is a bad choice.

The power of the Thalmor still doesn't justify the imperials invading Skyrim. You can't really put the imperials on a moral high ground, because they received the same treatment that they gave to the nords in the first place.

Also, making the Nords pay for imperial mistakes is not okay at all.
I really don't give a rat's ass about religious freedom, but if you think that any minority is more important than the majority, than you are plain wrong. Yes, it sucks for the darkelves. It is not good, it is not right. They could treat them as equals, and that would be the right thing, but saying that the Empire is better because the Nords are ***ing racists is just immature.

The Empire disrespects and destroys the culture and laws of the Nords, enforcing it's own will, and basicaly using them as meatshields against the Thalmor.
In the process they would gain another province. The Empire doesn't care about the suffering of the Nords.

Oh and let me pose a question: If someone is racist, does he deserve to be killed?
