Your belief that there have been no acts of terror is fallacious, as there is abundant media coverage on much of it.
Your belief that the middle eastern countries that America invaded were poor when they were invaded is fallacious: while the masses did indeed live in poverty, the very fact that such large reserves of petrol were to be found there also can be directly linked to the opulence in which their tyrannical governments lived. Furthermore, efforts, mainly on the side of the Americans to rebuild infrastructure in these countries have been hampered by corruption in the new governments as well as continued hostility with insurgents.
You are correct in saying that the resistance movements throughout Europe did, statistically little in fighting against the Nazis, however, without their assistance the Allied forces would not have had such access to critical intelligence and the OSS and MI6 would have had a much more difficult time in helping those countries rebound. Without the resistance movements, it can and should be assumed that Europe would be a drastically different place today.
The idea that I am an American is fallacious: not everyone who believes an armed public is a safe public is an American, though I am grateful to say that a study of the constitution of the United States, upon which every free society now in the world based their constitution, was part of my education as is an encouragement to seek many sources when obtaining news while also being aware that every news source will have a bias.
You discount the horrible tragedy which happened in Norway, and you turned it into what I would consider an outlier: something that does not fit the mold. In so doing you insinuated that mentally ill cannot gain weapons illegally. This article sheds some light on how Breivik obtained his explosive armaments: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/norway/8673118/Norway-massacre-British-traders-helped-supply-Breiviks-arsenal-of-weapons.html
This is a clear example of how a person who is either crazy or warped mentally can cause tremendous damage, and who gained much of what he had through legal and illegal means, regardless of gun laws.
I am unfamiliar with Switzerland crime statistics, but I was able to find two comparable graphs between Italy and Switzerland.

http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/italy
If you would please navigate through Death and Injury to Gun homicides, you will not only find that Italy has more gun homicides, but also for several years even has more deaths per capita. While these unfortunately only show up through 2010, it can safely be inferred that overall Switzerland is a safer place to live, in regards to gun homicide, than Italy, with the reversal of that trend being only in recent history.
Perhaps you are referring to "guns being used in crime" as having a substantially higher number there. If so, I would love to see the facts. As they stand, my statements are based upon what I have shown to you.
Further, if you look at homicides by any method, you will see that Italy consistently has more than Switzerland, a trend which I doubt has changed in the few years not shown on this graph. Truth be told, whether or not it is because Switzerland has an armed populace that can defend itself is not something that can be altogether proven, it is acknowledged to be a possible major contributing factor.
I only bring up these facts in order to help demonstrate that much of what you have purported as factual, is in fact not. They are, in fact, bits of rhetoric used in the gun debate and wither when shown to be incorrect.
On a personal note, living in a country with very tight regulations against firearms, my own family was effected when my father was killed by someone with a weapon that, as it turns out, was obtained illegally. The bitter irony was that my father shot sports pistols, and had a license to legally own weapons including several higher calibre pistols, but was unable to carry one that could have saved his own life, because of the stringent carry laws here in New Zealand.
