The source for 90% of the FSA being non-syrian is the German BND, report of early 2012. The source for the rebels using sarin gas is the Reuters News Agency, a very credible source, and the outstanding BBC and NPR correspondent Dale Gavrak, who reported from Syria just a few days ago about rebel forces admitting the use of chemical weapons that were given to them from the saudis.
Just look at it from this side: Assad does not at all benefit from using chemical weapons. Because of the support from Russia and China, he was in the process of winning the war before the chemical weapons attacks took place. In return, countries allied with the US and the US themselves would greatly benefit from bashing the last anti-israelic and pro-russian regime in the region. This time it is not about the oil, but a) about preparations from Israel to strike on Iran and b) about the petrol dollar. The whole arabic world that just experienced the so called "arab spring" was attempting to switch from the petrol dollar to another kind of unified currency, as the revolts happened. There is proof that multiple revolts, if not all, were actually organized by israeli agents. For example, multiple Mossad agents were imprisoned during the uprisings in Egypt and later set free by the new administration.
A further thing you should think about is the past the US and the UK had in the arabic world. It is painfully naive to believe that the use of chemical weapons such as sarin gas is the only reason or the main reason or any reason after all for the upcoming US intervention in Syria.
