Being censored doesn't just mean getting killed because you are politically dangerous, that's assassination. Censorship specifically refers to destroying speech, MLK wrote and published his most famous letters from prison (Letter from Birmingham Jail), many political prisoners do interviews in prison. But more importantly it means retroactively destroying and criminalizing speech, making it illegal to read. If the government throws you in prison for activism, that's surpression, if they destroy and deny your speech, that's censorship (which governments have become almost completely incapable of since the end of the Cold War)
