My wife had never heard of The Backrooms I have just heard but never really read or watched anything connected to them. We watched the two movies back to back. She didn't even finish Obsession. And said The Backrooms is a good movie. So yeah. I have the opposite of your experience.

Its actually nice. It drops the ball towards the end and the dialogue is on the line of being bad, but good execution. The Backrooms is a much better pick. Imaginative with deeper story telling.
