Reapers only harvest advanced races, so unless mammals were as evolved as dinosaurs (and then something else made them lose all their knowledge) reapers would have left all the other races alone. When they destroyed the Protheans they actually DID leave the humans alone. They also left the Yagh alone in Mass Effect 3
