EU has been destroying the French agriculture in favor of other european countries like Romania or even Ukraine. They never tried to protect farmers.

Its the opposite. They try to make farmers disapear because historically speaking, farmers always have been the major threats for governements (In France, but i guess its the same for other countries.)

Moreover, the EU believe in a globalized market. They dont care if France or Spain cant grow their own good. They believe you can just buy it elsewhere.

If the French government really wished to protect our farmers, they would tax importations on food and require the same standards on imported products.

Agriculture is a matter of life and death for a country, just like health, education and military. And for France, its also cultural as we are THE country of food and cuisine.

Protect small farmers and maybe they will produce good products instead of being forced to compete with large scale farmers and farmers from third world countries.

And its not a romantic and false idea. I live in small village in the french alps, we are still close and extremely attached to our local productions.

We have this in literally every city in France. And after all, EU is the new soviet union.
