at this point I really dont care about HL anymore. I am not an edge highschool kid anymore as I used to be when i signed up here. All I am saying is t hat a website that insults me every time I have a look at it is not for me. The "humor" shifted to attacking, patronizing, disrespecting, insulting, attacking and mocking people, sometimes even individuals. I dont mind political humor. I have a problem with people who think racism is a political view or a good source for laughs.

Imagine you are at a wedding, and everyone is having a good time. There is discussion, people joke around, and so on. Suddendly, the one uncle stands up, an empty can of beer in his hand, and starts speaking in a loud, but slurred manner: "Those black people, amirite?"
Would telling him to stfu be being overly leftist or political?

This is not about "leftist" or "the right" or "edgyness", this is about a fundamental level of respect and human dignity. HL was intended as a site for funny memes, not for political discussion and trumpesque rants.

In all those years since I've joined this community, I have seen cringy bots, raids by other communities, raids by our own community, shitposts, and otherthings. I remember when this was where people fled to from that other website that was taken over by "normies" back in the days. I've seen people come and go. And while I've never been an active poster, I have been active by just watching what this community does; and voting. In the last couple of weeks, the community I enjoyed for years has changed. There is nothing wrong with a little dark humor. I can deal with spam, I can deal with bots, but i cannot deal with blatant racism. WasteofBreath, I could not agree more to what you say. Its sad to see this site go to waste after almost 8 years.
