Unfortunately, webslop is where the most jobs are at, which is also what i do for a living, so I totally get it. It's like we were born to make games, but forced to make CRUDmaxing webslop.

Even tho everyone seems to hate CMake, I don't have any issues while using it, but that's probably because I've never written C/C++ professionally, so I understand your point.

raylib is a pretty based choice. It's the only open source project I'm a donator of right now. Since my first goal is to make a 2D game, I'm actually using raylib so I can focus more on the architecture etc. before I move on to making a 3D game.

Do you still work on anything interesting?

I've never tried Rust and I don't think I ever will especially as an alternative to C. I already use C++ like C with classes + some STL containers, and I don't have any issues managing the memory, so I don't see the benefit of wrapping my head around the borrow checker and other bs of Rust.

What did you try to make with Rust tho? Always happy to hear what other people are working on.

I tried, but it didn't work. I wouldn't recommend it.
