for the minute of silence it was the House of representatives. Even in europe some people asked for a minute of silence in the european parlement, which is just ridiculous. There is many politicians killed in the world every years, why this american should get a minute of silence in the EU parlement, except to say "see the left lack empathy!" and being even worst human being by using a murder to avance your narrative.

I did see few people happy that he is dead but most people are more about applying his own logic: death by gun are a inevitable tragedy for the price of gun right, that empathy is ruining the society.
As I said on my side internet is full of people (mostly bots surely) crying about the lack of empathy and asking people to show some respect while usually saying stuff like world is healing when a mass shooting happen in place like a mosque, a LGBT events...
Of course those people (or even bot), as for *** (this kind of place are cancer when it is about politics like 4chan), are just a minority of the real right and left people. An echo chamber that is not a reflection of the politic. The retarded and noisy child, like the MAGA protecting their pedophile. They make you believe they are the majority because they just speak louder than anyone else.

Most people either just do not care and think we should get over it (me and also Trump when it is about children getting killed) or are concerned because it is a politic figure that gets shot and they know some politician will use this crime to manipulate people and be more oppressiv (you, according to your last sentence and I understand you and your concern)

I did not see it this way but in fact you are kind of right. He did not mind that gun violence happen to other, it happens to him.

You can be right, to be honest I spend the last two days in back pain, can't really sleep. So I was on internet this night and it was all about him. And I saw many people asking for empathy (once again one elected chamber wanted to do a minute of silence for him and is offended when the DEP elected refused (while refusing to do one for victims of mass shooting)).
Of course everybody on the right-wing is not asking for empathy, you are 100% right. But I saw many peoplet, a not a small number (maybe fake accounts), asking for empathy. And also I saw more people complaining about the lack of empathy than people showing a lack of empathy.

Many people use his death as a political tool: fake an outrage for the lack of empathy of the left (while often lack themselve empathy for many other kind of victims. Remember the minnesota politicians who were killed. for example)
Many people who suddenly care about violence where really blind when people die before in the same circonstance.

The best, in my opinion, is not to make it a political situation for the moment: be quiet, let the police and justice do their job (people can even help a little bit), let the family deal with the grief and not try to use it. If it appears that this murder was politic (most probably but let catch the shooter first) then you can make it a politic thing.

You missinterpret what I said I don't care (which is different that doesn't bother me). I mean I do not feel concern by this and it does not affect me. This is a tragedy for HIS family, I am not saying this is okay. But this is not a tragedy for other people.
I just point out also the irony for him to speak about inevitable victim of gun violence and becoming one.

But the classic if you are not on my side, you are against me (you are evil that consent about it).

And if you think this make me evil to not feel anything about his death. Question for you. Do you cry every second of your life because all of murders, pains, rapes, abuses, violence and many other injustice and crimes around the world that happen every minute?

If not, does that make you evil? No it makes you human.
And in this case the situation is clear: we know nothing about real motivation, let the justice and police handle this to punish the shooter and do not let some media make it the tragedy of the year while many more people die by gun violence in tragic event like mass shooting.
By the way, by your standard Kirk was evil too and way worse than me.

and where is the disinformation? He actually said that he think empathy is a problem, that victims of gun violence are the price to pay for gun in USA and that emotion should not highjack the debat about gun.
I apply all those three in this situation.
