The real problem with the Bible is there are two differents book creat with two differents philosophies and messages.
The ancient testament (jewish book)
And the new testament created after the coming of Jesus and his message. Those two books are totaly different in term of ideas: old testament is kind of jew are the chosen one and we should remain pure and protected from other, new testament is kind of God love is universal and should be bring to anyone.

In my opinion, the christian people should only refer to the new testament (which is not totaly peace and love, aka the revelation and many others texts) as it is the update of God message but many love to dig into the old testament to reinforce their claims.
But anyway in general people pick what they want in religious texts, bend them to correspond to their will if needed, and ignore what can counter their ideas.

The point of Babel tower myth (if you talk about this one, if it's another one don't considere the rest of my message because I don't know this one) is not "segregation is a part of god's plan" but "humanity is not equal to God and should not try to be or it will be punish"

But it is true that some people can bend this myth to justify a segregation is God's plan for people you are not very educated
