Actually saw this earlier but a couple things bother me about this so I came back

First, both title and OP's image say "25+," so clearly, reading his strong suit.

Second, 27-23 is "at least 2 years"? So math isn't either. Unless he's referring to everyone in the thread, which would be really sad if that were the case.

Also, sometimes the choices aren't ones we prefer. I have a highly specialized degree, and I'll be making 6-figures by the end of the year, but the last time I even had a date was 8 years ago; 5 for any banging. I can get 2 weeks off at times and I won't do anything, just sit around and play vidya, alone most of the time, because that's what I want to do. I don't have any interest in going to bars, or going out with coworkers. No, I'm not happy with what I've been dealt, but like everyone else, I do what makes me happy

One of my best friends also has a degree, albeit very generic. He went into the Air Force, made all the money he wanted, then got kicked out and sent to prison for 2 years because a girl he was drinking with one night had a change of heart the next morning and decided it was rape.

Life must be pretty great for you if you're on 4chan telling people "just make better choices."

Here's an upvote, though I wish I could give more. Thank you for explaining this

Like I said, I'm bored lol

Yeah, notmyusername pointed that out as well. For some reason I was thinking pansexual meant attracted to objects or other non-human... things? Don't know where I got that from.

It was honestly just an attempt at an example, a bad one it looks like. You don't need a reason to be who you are (in this case, pansexual), but heterosexuality is what has kept humanity alive, so of course its going to be the norm. That doesn't need to be explained at all. My problem stems from when they go out of their way to show something else, like in Solo.

To be fair, it was more the articles around Solo that did this more than the movie itself. They have just as much reason to keep it heterosexual as they do for doing literally anything else. Hollywood enjoys diversity, so of course they always go with the latter. That's why it feels forced to me.

Of course, again to be fair, most relationships in general in Hollywood these days feel forced af. One person will start liking the other just because they did some everyday thing.

None of the sexuality stuff really bothers me, personally. You like who you like. But the more Hollywood does this, it honestly feels like they mock non-heterosexual people, just because they use it as a source of entertainment more than spreading awareness of it

Fair point, though I'm not sure if pansexuality (is that the right word here?) was even a thing during Empire's time. It does still fit the narrative, but that, along with so many others like asexuality etc, have sprouted up in the last decade or so.

Probably bait, but I'm bored so I'll bite.

It's forced when a character who has clearly shown interest in one person that would make them one thing, but turns around and does something else.

Example: Lando Calrissian of Star Wars. In Empire Strikes Back, he's clearly interested in Leia when they meet, making him straight and heterosexual. In Solo however, he's interested in L3-37, making him (as the articles put it) pansexual. This is forced. Same applies to pretty much everything - changing a character's sexual preference just to throw in what they define as "diversity."

If its a character who has no real background, either by other movies, previous games, books, etc, then you really can't say its "forced" per say. Hollywood is very far-left so in essence everything that goes through them is forced. Won't be long before they make the new Kirk of Star Trek asexual, Master Chief gay, and Samus in sexually attracted to tentacle monsters (the last of which I may or may not have an open tab of at this very moment)

For the people who will read my example and counter it, allow me to do it for you. There's many years between the movies in canon.

It's actually "Kan" meaning "rape"
