At the moment I'm painting one of the two crews of Core Space boardgame.
I'm not much into Warhamme stuff, since I discovered that basically I don't like the game (after 1000+ points of Ultramarines and as many Tyranids...)
But still painting a lot for fun.
(a lot *of time*, not a lot *of minis*. I'm slow as f**k)

The "Hello world roulette"

MidwinterMinis is also colorblind. So you gan aim high. Maybe check a couple of his videos on youtube on the argument. I just remember he suggests normal palettes in stead of wet ones.
Anyway, a little shadowning for more contrast will do wonders (can be done easily with washes as a first step). Some Agrax Earthshade on those golden dudes will do a lot of difference. Beware not to have it pool on flat surfaces, or it will look all stained and decrease the "shininess" of the gold a lot
