There are plenty of things in maths that don't have a beginning, or scale into infinity. I understand it can be weird to grasp, but I personally think the materialistic worldview can make sense if you consider that to us, matter is only different from maths because we are part of it.

From within a closed system, you will never be able to 100% prove its nature. Although God would be omnipotent, he is in this universe, and would not be able to prove he doesn't have a parent of some sort.
