I believe that the Bible was talking about time, 24 hours, not about the sunrise. I'm not a theologist, so who knows.

The thing is that generally, when we talk about drugs, we are referring to compounds that have a very high recreational value. Amphetamines have a very high abuse potential. They are very euphoric and very energetic. Ambien doesn't have recreational value. Valium, on the other hand, does. And so does hydrocodone; It is an opiate. It will get you high.

Cocaine builds tolerance. Using it for too long and too often will make it harder to get high from cocaine. LSD also builds up tolerance (even cross tolerance), but it generally doesn't last for too long. A week, and you're ready trip again.
