I'm really sorry you're going through this, and I promise it gets better. I've been through something very similar a couple of years ago.
I've been thinking about what helped me the most and I'll try to sum it up here, maybe reading it helps you as well:
- Eat well, sleep well, train well. We are biological beings after all.
- Not all thoughts that pop into my head are relevant. Consciousness is there to remove those that are not to my benefit (as in, I have limited cognitive resources and I choose not to spend them on something that works against me)
- I am my own best friend. I have a duty to extend the same level of love and care I have for my friends and family to myself, as well.
- Do something difficult (for me, it was dancing, I'm too self aware - so I took up a dancing class)
Hold on in there, g. It's never easy when something you've used as foundation, as a given, falls apart - it IS death in some sense. But what comes after death is resurrection, a new foundation, and that is something to be hopeful about.
