For once, someone who gets it. Gaming consoles these days cannot be compared on the usual 2-dimensional plane as they have been because they are branching out in different ways.

X-box strives to be that machine that replaces the cable box, computer, dvd player, and system all for one machine, play station wants to perfect its known craft, Nintendo is experimenting with all sorts of gimmicky ways to enjoy old things (which, no matter how stupid is still kind of cool), and then pc gaming... exists? I don't pay much attention to pc gaming, but if I wasn't raised on consoles I would probably love it all the same.

Really, this drastic difference between the four systems/companies (for any internet goer who still cares about Nintendo as I) is what will keep them alive because they will eventually each serve their own purpose. They're different for a reason.
