Sorry but I'm pretty sure this isn't the thought process. In the Torah, the punishment for sin is death. Therefore, a blood sacrifice is needed to cleanse you of your sin. So God permits animal sacrifices to him to cleanse you of your sin if you are sincerely repenting. In no way is that chicken going to hell, Jews don't even believe in Hell since it isn't mentioned in the Torah. I think Sheol may be mentioned?
