The Critical Drinker always said that rage and criticism was good for Lucasfilms because it showed that at least people still cared
He said that they should be shitscared of the day when people stopped complaining en masse because on that day the brand would just be dead and people would have moved on
And it's exactly what's happened, they took the greatest movie and extended universe franchise - who raked in 2B$ in one movie just on the virtue that there had been no movies in 10 years - and turned it into a shittier, messier, cringier MCU where every piece of media is just dangling member berries on the screen often enough to try and trick and get the old fans (the ones who made it worth 4B$) back, and depends on cute critters like baby Yoda to sell any toys
And now even if there are fans no one cares about star wars because the most beloved and greatest success in merch, movie and universe building Hollywood ever had, is a niche interest for grown up children who refuse to see what it has become

And if you think it is just incompetence think again, it's activism from the management (KK and Iger)
Otherwise there is no reason to hold on to an IP that cost 4B$ which hasn't even made back its original purchase price after 10 years of continuous media production
