It's not offensive in and of itself.
What is borderline offensive, however, is that this is taken serious not only by the people suffering from this kind of delusion but also by serious institutions and the public.
Assigning a gender to a hermaphrodite often leads to suicide. And if somebody has gender identity disorder, they can have a surgery or wear women's clothes, that's their business, it's fine.
But this 4chan joke has gotten WAY out of hand, to the point where the "non-binary" disease has spread to serious institutions like universities and even some governments.
You don't have to buy into every tiny bit of male or female gender (i.e. the social construct of what your role, rights, and identity are as a man or woman [i.e. the biological sex]), nobody does. But forcing this insanity on others, claiming that you are "not a man or a woman", and basically demanding that people address you in a special manner because you didn't feel special enough before and are desperately looking for any and all means to stand out from the crowd so you can bear your otherwise (and for whatever reason) miserable existence, that is where I draw the line in the sand.
If KATIE is having trouble determining HER sex, then a DNA test will clear it up, because if there's one good thing about DNA in this whole "discussion", it's that it doesn't give any ***s about non-binary shenanigans.
If they spent even half the money they wasted on campaigns to be recognized on therapists, many people like Katie wouldn't even be in this situation.
