The wizard has higher AC than you and is literally immortal. Half the enemies we fight are resistant to your attacks and you are physically incapable of hurting something that is 10 ft. away from the ground.
In the time it takes you to swing your axe twice, the wizard has beaten the enemy you were attacking and 9 others with a single spell.
The wizard summoned a demon that is literally twice as tanky as you and deals four times as much damage, and this is still a pretty inefficient way to use magic.
Oh the cultist hit you with his dagger. You resist the 4 piercing damage and take 8d10 additional fire damage that you dont resist. Oh never mind someone forced you to make a DC 24 Wis save. Guess you are out of the fight anyway. Maybe the cleric will spare some healing for you, though honestly his spells slots are more valuable than you entire character.
