On page 34 of the report, table 6, it states that deaths directly related to obesity (code E66) were 7.740 for the year 2017. "Directly", because obesity may cause other serious diseases but it is not clear in this report what percentage of heart diseases, for example, were a cause of it. Perhaps a table with cause of death and weight of the deceased would make things clearer.

I just want to read the report for the numbers you posted because they seem quite high to me (1800 dead a day, 657.000 dead a year and we are talking only about the US! That's disgusting!). I found an article of the cdc that puts obese people in the groups at higher risk ( https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/groups-at-higher-risk.html), but if you notice in the title, the more serious issue at hand is covid. Please don't make the mistake of taking it lightly even if you aren't in the higher risk group or you will end up being another number in the stats.

Now i wonder what is more dangerous, a choice of unhealthy lifestyle or a rapidly spreading deadly disease? Hmmmmmm....... Also, citation for those numbers?
