Good joke, but I hope people don't actually think that. There is a big difference between working on something and then being hit with the gravity of consequences of that thing. If you actually take into account the stress of deadlines when working on weapons during WW2 + how deep into physics you had to go during development of nuclear technology, then you'll see how easy it can be to detach yourself from consequences of your creation. So when you are then informed of what your creation did, you end up being punched in the face with reality of consequences of what you did.
