I don't have any specific plans, but should I develop an application I would develop a web application. Many mobile applications these days are developed as web applications, then converted into multi-platform native apps using technology like Cordova ( http://cordova.apache.org/) or IBM worklight ( http://www-03.ibm.com/software/products/en/worklight/)

JSONP allows for cross-domain resource access without the use of CORS (Access-Control-Allow-Origin header), which isn't supported on older browsers.
