But my argument is that Firefox IS extremely valuable. It's value comes from the fact that it is a good browser, and it is most popular(only perhaps?) non chromium one. Keeping google default search on as many platforms as possible is the main goal for them as we found out last year when they faced charges of bribing hardware producers to have their search engine set as default. Without googles dirty money Firefox faces risk of being out of business (90% of Mozilla's revenue in 2024 came from Google), and without Firefox google would face another trial over monopolistic practices but in the browser market this time. I think both our arguments are valid and not mutually exclusive.
I also see your argument that if google stopped paying Mozilla some other company would step in but it doesn't make a lot of sense from googles stand point, in that scenario they would lose a platform to push their search engine and wouldn't be in control of the money that keeps Mozilla alive.
