If you go to a store quality veal will easily sell for $37 a kg while milk will only sell for $2 the reason I am not concentrating on there price for the farmer is that it varies with who they deal with while store prices generally don't. Every mammal needs colostrum then normal milk for the first few weeks, not just grass, however if the milk is worth so little and it has such a great affect of growth (which it does) milk would not be viable.
