This. You can't argue that there is a pink tea-pot orbiting around Jupiter, just because there is no evidence to disprove it.

What i find fascinating about cats is that they don't mind standing up. If you are a human being lying on couch, you are not gonna immediately stand up if someone touches you. Cats are built different.

Explanation:
During the WW2, the U.S. military wanted to reinforce their aircraft to reduce losses in combat. They studied planes that returned from missions and mapped where they had sustained the most damage. The initial assumption was to add armor to these frequently hit areas, assuming they were the most vulnerable.

However, Abraham Wald noticed a flaw in this thinking. He pointed out that they were only looking at aircraft that survived enemy fire and returned. The ones that were shot down were missing from the data. Instead of reinforcing the areas that showed damage on returning planes, Wald argued that armor should be added to the areas without damage on surviving planes—because damage in those areas was likely fatal, preventing those planes from returning.

This realization became the foundation of survivorship bias, where people draw conclusions based on incomplete data, ignoring cases that failed or were eliminated.

If Julius Caesar considered the ransom way too low, it was smart move for him to tell the pirates that he's actually worth more.
If they first asked for 500 000 denarii, letting your captors know that you are worth 5 million decreases of your chances of being dumped overboard if the pirates don't get their money fast enough.
If you get abducted by dangerous people, you better hope you are valuable.
