switzerland is a special case, you can't compare it to other nations in this context. 20% of the population living there are immigrant so its only natural to encounter them in every workplace. not only construction sites, even the kind of work you need more education for (this isn't meant to discriminate you or anyone else in any way ! so dont take it the wrong way) have a lot of immigrants, i guess its one of the few countries which is able to manage its waves of immigrants a lot better. and this isnt necessary because the swiss people are only lazy asses :D i mean, some are, but there are some hard workers among them too.
its just, in comparison to germany for example, you get paid a lot better to pay the bills you have to, as well as buy everything you need to live, so it pays of in switzerland to start with anything while in germany you do need education unless you want to be stuck with low wages where you can barely afford to live. and then there are people coming around accepting even lower wages and so it gets even harder to just live with that money. there are a lot of people working 48/h a week and still get less than people with social assistance who do nothing at all. its just fcked up.
