While what you say is partially true, you have to consider the context. While it is obviously a Nazi symbol, and therefore is reviled in Western society, in many Asian cultures such as Buddhist and Indian cultures, it is a common symbol. In fact if you go to nearly any Indian's house, you'll nearly always find this symbol either on the doorstep or somewhere else in house.

It is an ancient symbol that predates Nazi ideology by thousands of years, and the what the Nazis did should not automatically defile it worldwide.

In the last sentence, I mean that Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli don't want to reveal their identities yet.

Legolas is referred to as Thranduilion, i.e. son of Thranduil, king of the SIlvan elves in their realm of Mirkwood.

His name isn't stated because unlike the others, the Rohirrim have heard of Thranduil, and don't want to reveal their identities just yet.

Well since you haven't read any real literature like LoTR, those lessons are mostly worthless.

Poor decision by Peter Jackson to change the book in such a major manner.

Made Frodo a real wimp, when in fact he is not one.
