And yeah, Marx believed that in Capitalism the Source of Wealth is Work. But he criticized that (the Capital is an analysis and critique of the capitalist economy). So one could say that Marx was aware that there would be a need for work in order to things exist and that in Capitalism, Wealth derives of that Work (-> Exploitation). BUT: He actually thought that we should abolish Wages and keep the needed work as low as possible (something which isn't feasible in Capitalism, since you need more work to make more wealth). Also, the wealth in a Post-Capitalist Society (Communism) wouldn't be Money or Capital, but the Gebrauchswerte (Products).
