Yeah, but is possible, and it does not harm your car if you are doing it properly, it's not used because you can't do it perfect every time and you could damage the car.

I'm not sure at how much RPM, but you can shift without using the clutch, if you have enough RPM.
In case your clutch gets broken and you cant repair it then.
