For most people it is enough to be around 16 - 22% bf, if their goal is around that, there is no need to become obsessive.
I applaud the people who train and monitor their nutrition to make it work for them, and achieve optimal results.
A lot of people will definaltly benifit from counting calories and knowing about macros, even if it is for a shorter time, but it is not the only way.

There's no ***ing reason why one should make it more complicated than it is, unless one want it to be ***ing complicated ofcourse.
For some people it might only work if you obsess about it, but for some people moderation is enough.
The logic behind your statement looks like the one of an armchair bodybuilder.
