Every x minutes the most upvoted post from fresh goes to rising and the most upvoted post from rising goes to front. I think the timing is 30 minutes but could be different (and it could be different between fresh-> rising and rising->front). But that means that it does not matter how much upvotes a post has, just how much it has in comparison with the others. So even a dead hugelol will have frontpage posts.

Graphics are just more important to some people than to others.

But generally graphics is a big part in getting people to buy your game, and gameplay is ofcourse the biggest factor for people to keep playing your game.
