Well, in here in America, if you lay your hands on a child, ESPECIALLY one that isn't your own, you can do more jail time than you can for manslaughter. Seriously. If a child tried to stab you here and you punched it in the face you would probably get at the very least five years, but if you shot and killed a man, there is a very good chance you will get a twenty year sentence, and only have to serve 2-5.
