I'm just so loyal to ghiff because that's how I read it in my language, and I'm gonna keep pronouncing it like that

people spell PC, but pronounce GIF like a word.
The correct way would be to spell it (gee-eye-eff), but ain't nobody got time for that.
For .exe files, for instance, it's okay to say exe like a word, because it is a part of the word executable, so we can just read 'exe' and ignore 'cutable'. But gif if an abbreviation, so it's not the same.
