Dumb argument. Obviously cats make bad cattle and cows are bad for pest-control

kinda true, but then theres also venison or meat from wild animals. when youre goin for rabbit or deer, what stops you from shootin dat lynx/wild cat?

parasites and diseases. Predators eat other animals and absorb most of their parasites, some of the diseases too.

that seems a good point.
tho pigs are omnivores. which can be kept and thus controlled, i guess.
regarding fish there seems to be no such pattern. most of them roam free and it seems to be no factor whether theyre predatory or not.
im of course aware its largely a cultural thing anway. was/am just curious as to the answers thered be, so thanks.

pigs are omnivorous and when we breed them we have great control over which animals they consume, if at all. Breeding pure carnivours for food would be extremely wasteful and pointless.
Fishing is different for multiple reason. But I don't have deep knowledge of that subject so I won't elaborate on that further

It’s also another step removed from nutrition. Herbivores take in calories and nutrition from plants for themselves, predators take part of it when they eat them, and we’d be taking a part of a part by eating predators.
Also, there’s a reason that “like herding cats” is used as an idiom for something that’s extremely difficult and frustrating to do.
