I have my boss which is like this, and I'm not his friend but I also don't hate him. Would he take this as a kind gesture if I send him this? I really would like him to spend more time with his kids (he works like 14hours all days, even weekends)

I think you should take slow the pressure you put into your work and "what to do in life". Take it easy one step at a time. Try taking care of yourself by being healthy, that's very time consuming and will improve most of your other activities
