Fat people are a massive strain on the health system. I mean there are already implants for the brain that work in a similar way to a pace-maker in the heart. So the future is now. But if you're talking about cyberpunk level implants, it's highly doubtful that that's gonna be a thing. The brain is too unique and we still don't understand a lot of what's going on in there. I doubt it would be commercially viable to manufacture implants like that. Since they'd need to be extremely individualised. Also infection is a thing, you can't just stick shit on the back of your neck into your brain - you gonna get bacteria where they shouldn't be and die from meningitis.
