And you don't need the radicals to judge feminism. It's a sound comparison.

MutantGnomes · 1 points ·
And why is that a problem? Feminism in itself is not bad. The problem with feminism is that the media only shows the radicals of feminism, and the radicals are often the loudest (as with most groups.) Would you judge all of Christianity on the Westboro Baptist Church? Same basic idea.

You are totally right about it not being Ubisoft. Sorry about that. But I still stand by my opinions. You'll have excuse that little lapse in research, I wrote most of my comments after not sleeping for about three days, haha. Makes you miss a few things here and there. And I can respect Konami for at least having female characters that contribute to plot besides being killed off to motivate the protagonist. Though I have to say, that outfit is a bit off...Wouldn't a beater have worked fine? But now I'm just nitpicking.

The reason initial reason Ubisfot gave, before all of the backlash, was basically, "But animating women is haaaard." And no shit you have to choose between a male and female protagonist, but why does it always have to be a man when the choice comes? I'm getting very, very bored of scruffy, mostly white, protagonists. They're overdone. And many people feel the same. But that's not even really the issue at the moment. The issue is they had previously promised to have a female character for the multiplayer story mode. They went back on that promise because it would be "too difficult." But then had plenty of time and money to make sure that horses shit on time. This just shows that, once again, female gamers are low priority, even behind horse shit, when it comes to Ubisoft, despite the fact that female gamers make up nearly half of the gaming community (45% to be exact). So no, not really a legitimate when the simplest solution would have been to simply put off the game for a few more months to deliver what they promised. Black Flag came out less than a year ago, I think we could all stand the wait.

I agree, but better does not mean it's more fun. It's still sucks being a woman, I should know. ;P

There still is a glass ceiling, it's slightly higher than it was before but it's still there. Some of it may attributed to women not having the "right attributes" as many will say. But that is just a result of institutionalized sexism in our society, training women to be more courteous and silent. The wage gap still exists as well. Here's a paper,

http://web.stanford.edu/group/scspi/_media/pdf/key_issues/gender_research.pdf

,about the gender wage gap from Stanford. While the wage gap is not as large as it once was, it does still exists. And any amount of inequality with essentials such as money is absolutely unacceptable.

And here you go a shit ton of statistics from the U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Justice Statistics. (you'll have to excuse the fact that they're form last year.)
But feel free to pick through them and find a bunch of statistics on both domestic violence against women, and sexual violence on women.

www.statisticbrain.com/domestic-violence-abuse-stats/

(By the way, I'm not saying that domestic violence and sexual violence about men is unimportant. Just because it's not as common as domestic and sexual violence against women does not mean it shouldn't be stopped. Nobody male or female should have to experience either.)

And FINALLY, Rape statistics. Though I can agree 1 in 4 is inaccurate now, that statistic was from a study done in 1985, it's not far off. Have more reading!

https://www.rainn.org/get-information/statistics/sexual-assault-victims

So while the 1 in 4 is off, the new information isn't much better. Any amount of rape is not okay. And don't tell me that's not right, I know far too many women who've been raped or have had someone attempt to rape them.

So in conclusion, get off your ***ing high horse. Just because you don't like the facts, does not mean they aren't there.

You do realize that quite a few men do not have deep voices, they have voices that could be described as tenor. And women can easily fake tenor voices.

Did you know that out of all of the games that came out this past year only 24 featured an exclusive female protagonist? That's not 24% that's just 24. With how many games that came out that number is ridiculous. That's why it's important, the gaming community is, as I said in another comment, basically split down the middle (45% women, 55% men.) If we don't "force it" then we will never get anything at all. Having a story centered around a woman isn't forcing it, it's just having a story centered around a woman. The big thing with Unity is that they had previously promised to have a woman multiplayer character for the story mode and later got rid of her. That's the issue. We aren't even asking for a female protagonist right now, though it would be nice, we're just upset that they aren't delivering what they promised because it's "too hard" for them with the time they've given themselves. And instead of taking more time to make a better game they just said screw and got rid of the women. And yet they have time for horse shit. That's the issue at hand.

And you think you could pull off everything Ezio did, or look as good as him doing them? Video Games are about escapism, they're about fantasies. No I couldn't pull off a large majority of the things Lara Croft did, even if I am more of a sporty kind of girl. In real life SHE couldn't pull off that stuff. It's kind of the point. Being faced with unbeatable odds and impossible situation and you overcome them, kind of the plot line for most movies and video games. So why is it only a problem when it's a woman doing these things?

I really don't see what that has to do with anything I was saying? Explain?
