This isn't quite true. It's not possible to represent all real numbers in a computer, as you are working with a limited number of bits. In fact, decimal numbers are normally represented as floating point numbers which are terrible at what they do.

Floating point numbers CAN NOT represent every real number on even a part of the number line, but in fact can only take discrete values, so for nearly every decimal number you choose there will be a loss of accuracy in a computer. And the precision only gets worse for smaller and smaller decimals, even when using double precision floating point numbers.

If you wanted to implement this you should go with integer numbers for sure, but to be honest a suitable "arbitrarily large number" also depends on how frequently the computers are generating guesses and so Stratt has not provided enough information to answer this question
