Having not read the article, I'm guessing this is a case of a health insurance company denying a claim. Health insurance companies usually pay without trouble because they have standing agreements with care facilities, but sometimes they act like liability companies and try every legal trick to void your contract.

Wouldnt the insurance company be able to punish you for damaging the insured product on purpose? Or is a flying boomerang that YOU threw hitting you counted as a random event because of the trajectory
