It's that or collecting stuff while climbing towers to see where the stuff is (white doing some parkour and trailing some NPC's)

Crafting was cool when Runescape did it. There have been plenty more good games with crafting, but almost all of them would be better without crafting.

When I saw this meme I immediately thought of "Don't Starve", a game which fits the description to a tee, and is pretty bad IMO. I don't mind crafting at all per se, but this mix of "ideas" is particularly awful. "open world survival" just means you're lazily thrown into a randomly generated landscape where you have to micromanage various crap until you die. The crafting just made it even worse because you need a hundred things that might not even exist. Randomly.

I disagree with this. The lazy design nowadays are the AAA and AAAA "games".

Unless this includes the tile swap games that somehow make hundreds of millions of dollars each and the glorified gambling that has no real world value that also somehow makes hundreds of millions of dollars each, I further disagree.
