He's a hegemon. He won the elections, now he wants to take over Simpsons memes as well.

Wasn't she supposed to be the most important avenger of them all? (legit question)

I fcking hope not, a carrot has more charisma. They dumped Brie Larson in a movie with a shit script for her character and then they either gave her no instructions how to emote or she just sucked. Her character is basically without arc , no struggle so she just "mleeeehss" through the whole movie then gets OP.
its classic "strong woman" writing in 2019, thinking strong woman character is literally a God without flaws instead of well rounded character with personality that goes through a personal journey

True. I am of the opinion that both factors are at play - the character is badly written and Brie Larson sucks. Of course, this is only from what I've heard, as I have neither seen nor intend on seeing the movie, but as I said -- it is just my opinion.
Disney have done the "strong woman writing" before; it wouldn't surprise me if they do it again and that she is -- as has been rumored -- "the most important avenger". Chances are it will be Rey from Star Wars all over again. And for some reason critics will praise it, people will love it, and our only comfort will be hate-memeing it.

You're not missing anything good. I gave the movie 3/10, it's without personality, the colograding is classic Marvel (no black - blacks, everything is colorless, with no dark blacks everything is without contrast). The action is mundane and poorly shot/edited. The writing is pretty bad and the humor is surprisingly unfunny for a Marvel movie. The soundtrack is fcking weird and the score is forgetable.
The writing suffers because they have no development of character. (Maybe a spoiler here, but not really, if you want to know NOTHING, then don't read this)
Captain Marvel has amnesia and when she knows her past she realizes who she is and she is OP powerful. So she has not struggle in her journey, instead she just mumbles about and tries to figure stuff out and then surprise she is OP.
Her best friend and their relationship is poorly written because they don't establish them as "best" friends in the beginning and when they reconnect later in the movie to have a heartfelt moment (that goes on forever) it doesn't work because we don't know their relationship. And there is an annoying cringey kid in there too.
Yes, that's pretty much it. I don't understand how you can even legit say this is a good movie. At best, which I can buy, is that it's an okay movie. In my book this is a boring, unpersonal and lifeless film.

I am glad that my previous 5% incentive to watch this movie is now down to 0%. The only thing Marvel have ever had going for them was mindless fun. With that out of the day, they are just another drop in the sea of sewage which is modern cinema.
Marvel have gone down the "competent kids' films but not fully kids' because we pretend to be somewhat deep" route. I have never been into them; not even the first Avengers (2011).
I understand it's hard to make adults in skintight onesies look serious, but it's not impossible. It takes a lot of skill to pull it off, and that is why Christopher Nolan's Batman is an exceptional masterpiece, and Infinity War but a fun and forgettable (even if hugely popular) adventure flick.
I am more into older movies. There's a plethora of them that I haven't seen, and I can choose between classics and gems, ignoring the drivel between. Presently, I am looking forward to seeing Watership Down, Wizards, and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.
