Is it really though? Or is that how you justify wasting your money.

It is. Everything become smooth as you see the real world. The good thing is that is already the optimum, so nothing better will be needed.
You can save few bucks and get a 90hz since you can hardly see the difference, but the price difference is low and you have more choice among the 144hz screens.
I definitely raccomend 144hz just for gaming, it a wast for everything else.

I use 60hz screens and have used 144hz, and considering that 144hz monitors are actually more expensive than "a few bucks", especially when buying 3 monitors, it gets very expensive quick. For the majority of games 144hz has no advantage over 60hz, except for competetive shooters where every milisecond counts, where that doesnt even make a difference for most people.

I said few bucks more than a 90hz. Using three monitors is expensive, but if you are gonna buy just one monitor, it's better do get a decent one.
I didn't say 144hz makes me paying better, it's just way more smoother to see. The more a game is fast paced, the more it is annoying to see at 60hz.

I don't think it's such a big difference, but I still think it's money well spent, considering I'll use my monitor for about a decade.
